Scholarships & Awards

GSNF offers three Scholarships and one Innovation Award. The goal of the Scholarship Committee is to make quarterly awards each calendar year. Applications can be submitted at any time.

Criteria For Selection

Tony Leone RN to BSN Scholarship
  • scholarship criteria
  • application form is complete
  • proof of acceptance into RN to BSN academic program
  • 2 letters of support
  • one-page letter regarding commitment to succeed academically
  • personal vision of goals upon completion of academic program
Catherine J. Dodd Health Policy Scholarship
  • scholarship criteria
  • application form is complete
  • proof of acceptance into graduate level academic program
  • 2 letters of support
  • one-page essay describing personal vision of future involvement in government relations/health policy issues
Betty Curtis Career Advancement Award
  • scholarship criteria
  • application form is complete
  • itemized list of costs associated with the career advancement activity
  • one-page written description of the activity relating it to how it will improve patient care and advancement of one's nursing career
JoAnn Powell Award for Innovation
Scholarship/Awards Committee Selection Criteria

The Committee will review each application and assign points (1-30) to the following:

  • ANA\C membership (date joined)............................................ 1 point
  • Participation within ANA\C....................................................... 1-5 points
  • Other Nursing Organization Membership................................. 1 point
  • Participation within other nursing organizations..................... 1-5 points
  • Value of award/grant/scholarship to GSNF/ANA\C................... 1-5 points
  • Value of award/grant/scholarship to Healthcare......................1-5 points
  • Value of award/grant/scholarship to Nursing...........................1-5 points
  • Any other funding received from GSNF within past 5 years......1 point
  • Other Items to Consider...........................................................2 points
